Tim says we are currently about $500K under budget for FY '24. The August YTD financial statements indicate the current plan through August 2024 for total expenditures is $3,141,878 with an actual spend of $3,049,493. The actual is $92,385 under plan, not the $500,000 that Tim says. (Link to CDD financial statement)

Tim says that the conveyed parcels from Park Square were landscaped at no cost to the community. This is true. What Tim failed to mention is that I worked with Mike Eckert on the 2nd addendum to the acquisition agreement (click here for detail) which requires Park Square to bring those parcels up to standards. This agreement was not signed until October 2021, when Park Square needed the CDD to allow them to make changes to the design in the Marisol Point area. It was at that time the original agreement was signed.

Tim says he stopped the Lyvwell rental units build out. We all know that Seacrest, led by Mike Giamalis, did all the hard work, but that doesn’t stop Tim from taking credit.

Tim talks about no tax increase for 2025. It is true that the Board approved the same rates as last year. But how did they do that? Tim is paying operations expenses out of the reserve fund. Park Square conveyed 11 parcels to the CDD. These parcels, with the new landscaping, need to be maintained. Tim chose to take money out of the Reserve fund to pay $180,000 for the maintenance of those areas. Tim has also approved taking $150,000 out of the reserve fund to pay for pickleball courts. The only problem is that neither of these two items is planned for in the reserve fund. This will leave the reserve fund short, and the missing money will need to be assessed to bring the fund back up to where it should be. Finally, the CDD had 11 medjool palms cut down that died of lethal bronzing. Besides the fact that the CDD refused to inject the trees for two years to prevent lethal bronzing, the Board has only replaced 2 of the 11 palm trees. There are 9 signature palm trees which need to be replaced at $8,000 each. That’s another $72,000. I guess if you want to not maintain CDD property and abuse the reserve fund, then you can create no budget increase.

Finally, Tim says “Polishing the Brass and Preserving Paradise” is his motto. I just told you about the 9 medjool palms not replaced. As for polishing the brass take a look at https://www.stevelockom.com/Landscaping-Concerns.php and tell me if the brass is polished
